think

The brain is divided into left and right halves. These two halves share mental activity. The left and right halves are responsible for different tasks. Men and women use both halves differently. Nobody can live without the memory. It gives us a past and helps us navigate the present. We compare that which we see, hear and feel in the present with what has already happened to us. This is how we learn for the future. The thinking brain would be lost, however, without an extremely vital process: the act of forgetting. A great deal of what we have experienced must be deleted from the memory.

feel

Seeing, hearing, feeling and tasting: without interruption our senses communicate stimuli to our brain from birth to death. It is an infinite, complex process which still remains a mystery to science. The everyday happens to us without us needing to “think” about it. Feeling determines our inner life. What mood do we find ourselves in now? Can we influence our moods? What helps us when we are depressed? Soft sounds relax us; cool music puts us in a “good mood”. Our feelings can also be betrayed. Prejudices fog our brain and prevent us from thinking clearly.

act

The brain controls our movements. It is a complicated regulation centre that has our muscles, joints and sinews all under control. Should this control be impaired we can no longer move ourselves precisely. We are unable to grip what we want to pick up, we’re not able to walk in a straight line, and we cannot orientate ourselves. We cannot maintain balance. But the brain is also easily deceived: if we simulate false signs to it, it fails us and our movements become uncoordinated. So beware: the brain is not always to be trusted!
