In 1994 the Völklinger Hütte ironworks became the first 19th-century industrial plant to be declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
For more than a century the Völklinger Hütte shaped the lives of many thousands of people. Today, the Völklinger Hütte is the only 19th-century ironworks that remains in its entirety.

Back
