SaarLorLux Family Day at the Völklingen Ironworks

There has been much activity at the World Heritage Site Völklinger Hütte over the winter. People of all ages are invited to join us at the World Heritage Site Völklinger Hütte on Sunday, 5 April 2007 for our fantastic “Family Day”. Entrance is free, and visitors are welcome to explore the 600,000 m² of the site. There will be plenty to discover at the Family Day:

The introducy show in the sintering plant takes visitors on a time journey trough the history of the Völklinger Hütte

• ScienceCenter Ferrodrom® with more then100 hands-on objects and demonstration stations
• The Paradis - World Cultural Heritage Völklinger Hütte
• ScienceCenter exhibition: Your brain. think, feel, act.
• History exhibition: State Gifts - 60 years of Germany 
• Opening of the exhibition "Ouverture - Centre Pompidiou-Metz

• the gripping adventures of „Lily Luna“ in the blast furnace office
• face painting for Children's at the blast furnace office
• artwork projectsat the blast furnace office

• public tours at 12 a.m. and 3 p.m. meet at ticket office
• children tour at 2 p.m.
• Guided Tours "Fascination Blast Furnaces" at 2.30 pm and 3.30 pm

• opening  ceremony  at 5 p.m. with Percussion under Construction" by the Saarländisches Staatstheater Saarbrücken.
