Mehmet Ünal - Stations of silence - Immigrant workers at the Völklingen Ironworks

Begin: 16.03.2008
End: 15.02.2009
Location: Hüttenpark (Ironworks Park)

At the Völklingen Ironworks, it was workers from Turkey who formed the largest group recruited from another country. This trans-European migration from Turkey to Germany was set in motion by the industrialisation process of the 20th century.

The project on migration at the Völklingen Ironworks is a good reason to take up as a central theme the historical origins of Turkish immigrant workers and the way they influenced Europe.
