Greeks held their spectacular chariot and horse races. An aquadrome is a place where you can go to explore the undiscovered world of water. The first Science Center in the Saar-Lor-Lux region, Ferrodrom® 08, in the burden shed with its area of more than 10,000 sqm, invites the visitor to discover the fascinating world of iron. The elements needed for the production of iron – fire, water, earth and air – can be experienced at first hand. The history of iron and that of the Völklingen Ironworks come alive. The panorama opened up in Ferrodrom® 08 takes visitors from the early days of iron production right through to high-tech products made of stainless steel. Exciting hands-on exhibits mean that there's no chance of getting bored. Whether they're experimenting, trying things out or simply playing, inquisitive people of all ages will have great fun in Ferrodrom®08 at the World Cultural Heritage Site Völklinger Hütte.
