In the light of the current situation regarding the coronavirus, the World Heritage Site Völklingen Ironworks – European Centre for Art and Industrial Heritage has decided, in consultation with the Ministry of Education, to temporarily close the World Heritage Site Völklingen Ironworks to the public. From Tuesday, 17 March 2020, up to and including Friday, 3 April 2020, the World Heritage Site Völklingen Ironworks is to remain closed to visitors. All booked tours during this period will be cancelled. Should it prove possible to reopen the World Heritage Site Völklingen Ironworks after this date, the planned exhibition Africa from its Photographers’ Perspective will open on Sunday, 5 April 2020. However, the traditional season opening of the World Heritage Site Völklingen Ironworks on Palm Sunday (April 5, 2020), with our Family Sunday and the official exhibition opening, will be postponed until a later date. Any further information, including the reopening date, will be made available on our internet site at www.voelklinger-huette.org and on the Facebook page of the World Heritage Site Völklingen Ironworks. A visitor hotline has been set up under the number: +49 6898 9100 100.
